Long Inner and Outer Bibs
Inner bibs provide for a higher level of protection by providing an
additional barrier layer between the worker and the contaminants. When
the bibs are tucked in, air ows from the respirator across the torso to
create a cooling effect.
Two Hood Styles. Two Choices.
The RT Series Hoods are available in either Tychem QC (RT2 and RT3)
or Tychem SL (RT2 or RT4).

A lightweight, durable fabric, DuPont™ Tychem® QC utilizes the
strength of DuPont

fabric and a polyethylene coating. Tychem

QC fabric provides at least 30 minutes of protection and more than 40
chemical challenges. Tychem

QC is used for light splash protection in
a variety of industrial environments, including petroleum rening, pulp
and paper manufacturing, food processing, chemical processing, and
pharmaceutical manufacturing.

fabric to provide a rugged and durable fabric
that resists abrasion. Tychem

SL fabric provides at least 30 minutes
of protection against more than 124 chemical challenges. Typical
applications: chemical mixing, hazardous remediation, emergency
medical response, paint spraying, and nuclear environments.
The RT2 and RT4, constructed of Tychem SL, feature taped and sealed
seams to minimize the potential for any inward leakage at the sewn
seams. Tychem SL is Saranex coated and provides excellent permeation
characteristics against more caustic chemicals.
The RT Series Hood can be used for both Powered Air-Purifying
Respirators and Supplied Air Respirators.
Ultimate Disposability
The RT Series Hoods are available in several congurations to meet
most levels of disposability requirements. As with most Tychem hoods,
the RT Series is available as a stand-alone replacement hood for those
applications that allow for decontamination and reuse of the breathing
tube.
For single use applications, the RT Series is available fully assembled
with a disposable lightweight breathing tube. Individually packaged with
the breathing tube already attached, the user needs only to don the
hood and connect the ow control device. After exiting from the area,
the user may dispose of the complete assembly.
Independent 3rd Party 1,000 APF
To meet the requirements of using the hood at an APF of 1,000, Bullard
contracted the US Army’s RDECOM (Research Development and
Engineering Command) Center to perform an Independent Laboratory
Respirator Protection Level (LRPL) study.
The exercises were chosen to simulate activities that may be seen in a
pharmaceutical manufacturing application. The testing equipment and
capability is the most elaborate and sophisticated of its kind.

travel to the torso for a cooling effect.

inward leakage of contaminants.
No Fit Testing The hood-style design ts a wide variety of users, requires no t testing, and
accommodates eyewear and facial hair.
